When we designed KORG M3,
we took care of the fact to be
available for everybody’s
budget as possible, but again
to offer wide spectrum of
capabilities and to be very
powerful on its very beginning.
When you look further,
there is no single keyboard at
the market which has such
capabilities and physical
controls.
On the quality and capabilities
of this keyboard, we
talked with one of the best
musicians from these regions,
Vasil Hadžimanov.
Tell us something about yourself.
“Hi to all, I’m Vasil Hadžimanov,
Piano player, keyboard player, musician,
composer, arranger and producer. I play in
my band - Vasil Hadžimanov band, and
Darkwood Dub group, and I cooperate
with many jazz and rock musicians in the
region and world.
Which was the first instrument you used?
My first professional keyboard I ever had
was KORG itself, model KORG Wavestation,
and I remember that I was completely
excited with the warmth and wideness of
such instrument, and in that time when I
was teenager, it used to sound to me with
more quality and more professional then
any instrument until then.
Since then, such relation with the KORG
lasts until today but, to make short
confession, I used other manufacturers and
other instruments as well, then I came back
again to my parent manufacturer. So, this is
my opportunity to present the up-to-date
synthesizer KORG M3.
Why M3, and what can you tell us about it
and about your experience with it?
KORG M3 caught my attention in many
ways. List of reasons is too large, but I’ll
exempt the fact, that EDS Intesys is the
same as at KORG Oasys, which is the
great plus for M3. So, we can freely entitle
M3 as younger brother or “nephew” of
OASYS.
Also, you can add RADIAS Expansion
which has vocoder, which is personally
the most favorable and very significant
and useful for my performances. Practically,
M3 is very thankful for live performances.
Touch screen is very thankful
and useful. You can put primary sound
colors in order, so you can swiftly and
easily edit them, as well as to use it as
KAOSS PAD. The key itself on the M3 suits
me because it is made on the synthesizer
the way I need it. I am not the fan of such
and so-called piano keys on the synthesizer
because, as many times you try,
piano is indispensable and I am, above
all, pianist – so on the synthesizer I’m
more adaptable to these light keys which
are, on my opinion, specially installed in
relation to other synthesizers I played.
Generally, entire keyboard is designed in
order to work in studio manner, as well as
on live performances – which is ultimate
fact for me.”
