Development Office Now Mission Advancement<br />
<strong>St</strong>. Joseph’s <strong>Academy</strong> has changed<br />
the name of its Development Office to<br />
the Mission Advancement Office. The<br />
change reflects the <strong>Academy</strong>’s commitment<br />
to ensuring that all work is undertaken<br />
in support of the mission of the<br />
Sisters of <strong>St</strong>. Joseph and the <strong>Academy</strong>.<br />
The Mission Advancement staff<br />
hosted several meetings this year to inform<br />
the faculty and staff of the change.<br />
Additionally, faculty and staff members<br />
participated in a branding exercise toward<br />
developing a new tagline or a short<br />
phrase that best describes SJA.<br />
In addition to the name change, the<br />
Mission Advancement Office welcomed<br />
two new members, Emily May Kline and<br />
Elizabeth Sheets.<br />
Kline, a 1999 graduate of <strong>St</strong>. Joseph’s<br />
<strong>Academy</strong>, has been named the<br />
Alumnae, Parents Participate in Call Nights<br />
Amy Liou Schock and Francine Graphia, both members<br />
of the class of 1983, reconnected with classmates during<br />
Alumnae Annual Giving Call Nights in February.<br />
The Mission Advancement Office<br />
hosted the annual Call Nights on February<br />
22-24 to raise financial support for<br />
the Annual Giving Campaign. More than<br />
20 alumnae and parents gathered in the<br />
school library to make calls.<br />

students; recruit and retain outstanding,<br />
experienced faculty and staff; provide<br />
smaller class sizes; and provide tuition assistance<br />
to deserving students.<br />
In three nights, callers made more<br />
than 400 calls and received more than<br />
$5,800 pledges. A Parents Annual Giving<br />
Call Night in November raised $1,950 in<br />
new pledges.<br />

“This is a wonderful way to reconnect<br />

time while doing important work.”<br />
Denise Heroman was equally excited.<br />
“The Call Nights are not merely a request<br />
for a donation; it is a request for participation,”<br />
she said. “The caller reaches out<br />

Cookie was a member of the<br />
Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre<br />
of Jerusalem, a lifetime member<br />
of the Catholic Daughters, a volunteer<br />
for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center,<br />
a member of the Baton Rouge Bridge<br />
Club and a life master of the American<br />
Bridge Association.<br />
