Churches Get Closer

would firstly like to
begin with an update
from the Summer
Activity Week which
was held from Monday
6 to Friday 10 August.
I am pleased to report
there was a good turnout
of young people from all
areas and everyone had
a good time. This also
gave the opportunity for
the Police and young
people to build relationships
and get to know
their own community
officers.
6-month Crime Report
Since April 2007 there
have been 381 crimes
committed (including
road traffic offences).
This gives a detection
rate of 73.2%. That’s
above the force average.
The same period last
year had 351 crimes
committed (including
road traffic offences) with
a 79.7% detection rate.
Although this year’s detection
rate is slightly lower,
there are still crimes for
which we have a positive line
of enquiry and we are actively
tracing the person’s
responsible.
Youth Disorder
I am pleased to let you know
that youth disorder within
Stein Square Park, which
appeared to be a rising problem
earlier this year, is no
longer a current issue. There
have been no reports of antisocial
behaviour within the
park since the start of July.
There has been a marginal
increase of 3 vandalisms
over the summer months
compared to last year. However
this can be partially contributed
to the summer holidays
as vandalism is a seasonal
issue.
In September there has been
just 2 vandalism reports.
Bike Theft
Since the start of the year
there have been 6 reports of
bikes having been stolen
within Bannockburn.
Security marking offer
Therefore any person who
wishes their bike to be security
marked or indeed their child’s
bike, please pop along to Bannockburn
Police Office.
I will also be liaising with Bannockburn
Primary School to try
and arrange a day to do this
within the School.

Churches: the Allan
Church of Scotland and
the Murrayfield United
Free Church held their
third Morning Service together.
The idea behind these services
is to draw Churches
into a closer working relationship
and this particular one
was different as it had as a
theme ‘Prayers for those who
serve the Community’ . Rev.
Graham Blount led the service
and he gave an insight
into his role as the minister to
the Scottish Parliament. Also
speaking about their role
within the community were
Bruce Crawford , the MSP
for the area and Provost of
Stirling and Bannockburn
resident Margaret Brisley.
