“The Fibonacci spiral, used as Penland’s logo from 1984 to
1989, was the inspiration for this piece. Robert has used spirals
in his work for many years and the enamel and diamond
nautilus has been an integral part of Mickey’s production
jewelry. Penland brought us together in 1994 and we have worked, taught, conspired, and collaborated
together ever since. This piece can be worn as a necklace, a brooch, or the chain can be worn separately.”
