Arthrogryposis Multiplex: “Curly Calf Syndrome” is a genetic defect in Angus cattle tracing back to GAR Precision 1680,
Reg. No. 11520398; in addition, on September 16, 2008, an ancestor of 1680 was also confirmed as a carrier of this genetic
defect, Rito 9J9 of B156 7T26. The American Angus Association has established a database for all owners of registered
Angus cattle, which designates these animals as Potential Carriers or No Carrier Ancestor. The American Angus Association
encourages owners of “Potential Carriers” to have these animals tested by an AAA approved lab to determine if these
animals in question are carriers of the recessive gene responsible for the Arthrogryposis Multiplex genetic defect. The
Mississippi Angus Association Board of Directors, as a matter of record, encourages all consignors selling registered Angus
cattle in the Mississippi Angus Association Sale that have a designation as a “Potential Carrier” to have these animals tested
before they are sold in the Mississippi Angus Association Sale on May 7, 2011 and any sale hereafter sponsored by the
Mississippi Angus Association. Let it further be known that any disputes concerning the testing of Arthrogryposis Multiplex
on any animal sold through the Mississippi Angus Association should be settled between the seller and the buyer. The
Mississippi Angus Association and American Livestock Brokers do not assume any responsibility for any registered
Angus animal designated as a “Potential Carrier” and sold through its sponsored sales that have not been tested by any
approved American Angus Association lab.
Sale Manager: American Livestock Brokers is only an agent for the seller and has no responsibilities other than those involved in
conducting the sale. The Sale Manager is merely acting as an agent in this sale and is not liable in any manner whatsoever for any
representation made by the seller. The purchaser must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made
hereunder. It is the absolute and sole responsibility of the seller to make positive identification of his animals at point of sale and
to match the information furnished to the Sale Manager in preparation of the sale book. The Sale Manager assumes no responsibility,
legal or otherwise, for the failure of the seller to fulfill these requirements in the event of default in any part of the terms and
conditions covering this sale by the owner; it will be up to the buyer to instigate any action necessary to bring about a fair settlement
of any claims rising from this sale and to be responsible for any and all costs involved therein.
Contracts: The above terms and guarantees shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal sold, and no
responsibility is accepted by the Sale Manager.
