16.01.08 Trumanpaper 2 Now the fantastic Truman-show is finished…. The Truman-Show showed us the life of Truman who didn´t not know that his entire life was a constructed reality soap opera, televised 24-hours-a-day to millions across the globe. Truman Burbank lived a very normal life, he had a good job and a loving wife. Unfortunately on one day a studio light went down from the sky just outside his house probably by a mistake. But this wasn´t the first unwanted event. Many people tried to “break” into the show so that they be once on the tube or in order that they could explain Truman which game is played with him. With this unwanted events came very critical situations, which could be also very harmful for the following progress of Truman´s life. Now, how we could see in the last broadcast of the Truman-show, Truman began to realize that something is amiss. He found out that he lives in a big constructed show in which he´s the main character and “left” the show (look at the picture at top) finally. The opinions about this show are divided. Many people think that this show was inhumane, other think that this is a very fine kind of entertainment. But one thing is clearly : Truman is very happy and lucky that he´s together with his Sylvia now and we all hope that this relationship takes a long time also in our REAL world. It was funny to see him talking to himself or just going to the office without recognizing that he is followed by thousands of cameras. 16.01.08 Trumanpaper 3 Interview with Chris 1.7 billion have seen his birth and 220 countries were watching his first step on TV. It is no one else than Truman. He was filmed by a great network of hidden cameras and broadcasted live and unedited each and every day since more than 30 years. He lived in a giant studio which is visible from the space. Every thing is made as real as possible. Now after these unforgettable time the Truman-Paper get chance to have an interview with the creator of this whole big project – Christof. Now the Truman-Show stopped because Truman found out he lived in an word created by human being. From the 221 st floor of the Omni-Cam Ecosphere: Truman-Paper: Hello Christof. I’m from the Truman-Paper and I’m very glad you offered your time for the interview. So let’s start: What exactly let you spend so much time and thought to do something like this. Christof : A show like this was never broadcast and I always enjoy making new things. Truman-Paper: To build such a big studio and cast so many people for the whole day and using of energy like the lights should cost much money. I can’t imagine where you got all these money. Christof : First it is generated by product placement. Everything of the show is for sale, from their clothes food etc down to the very homes they live in. All you can find in the Truman catalogue. And sometimes there’re advertisements to fix the cost. Truman-Paper: May I ask how many cameras were used? And how many actor and actress you needed? Christof : At all we used about 500 cameras but I have no idea how many persons exactly are working in the studio currently. And sometimes some of them are ill or have other important meetings. But nearly every one worked great to let the show be broadcast able. Truman-Paper: You mentioned nearly everyone. How didn’t cooperated in which way with the show? Christof : There were many intruders like Truman’s father after he drowns. And an other important example is Lauren who tried him to aware this show. But fortunaly we could send them out in time. Truman-Paper: Some viewer thinks that this show locked in Truman only they even call it is sick. They think Truman is a normal human being like you and me so he has the right to live a life like you and me in the world where you and I live. What do think? Christof : I gave Truman the chance to live a normal life. I constructed every thing like in our world and by the way the world in which we live is the sick. In my world I created for him he hasn’t to fear for anything. Seahaven is the way the world should be. He could leave anytime if he really wants. And as you see, he did.
