In 1947, Les Kouba, John Engel, Cy Pedersen and Ed Hirschoff built the
first Artograph projector from assorted automobile parts, garage door
track, plywood and bellows - all scavenged from a junk shop.
“Make it work and make it easy” was the simple philosophy of
Artograph’s founders. These four men spurred a vision that has
carried the evolution and expansion of Artograph’s product line
throughout the years...
inspiring the addition of light boxes and the Open Studio furniture line.
The founders’ creativity constantly inspired Artograph to think outside
the box. Each uniquely designed product is backed by a long-standing
