NORTHERN NEW JERSEY<br />
On June 12th, <strong>2004</strong>, Mash Chapter 4099 took part in the<br />
unveiling of one of the finest monuments in Northern New<br />
Jersey. After two years of planning with the school children of<br />
the Lewis Cole Middle School, history teacher Mrs. Barbara<br />
Pastore, and the generous contributions from the <strong>Korean</strong><br />
American <strong>Association</strong> of Fort Lee, the project was finally under<br />
way.<br />
The borough of Fort Lee donated the land for the monument,<br />
and the Fort Lee parks department cleared it for the foundation.<br />
The school children helped choose the design for the monument.<br />
Faust Fastini, Alex Atheras, Joe Poggi, and Jerry Van Brunt precede the<br />
MASH 4099.<br />
The newest <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> monument in New Jersey is located in Fort Lee.<br />

to the men and<br />
women of Bergen County<br />
and our South <strong>Korean</strong> comrades<br />
who gave their lives<br />
to halt the spread of<br />
Communism in Asia. The<br />
monument will be a lasting<br />
tribute to the men and<br />
women of the United<br />
States’ armed forces, who<br />
gave so much of themselves<br />
in the “Forgotten <strong>War</strong>.”<br />
