Ocean State Chapter 1 of Rhode Island<br />

This is the newest Chapter in Colorado and we are rapidly<br />

growing and expanding our membership and activities. We now<br />

have 65-members. <strong>The</strong> Chapter was formed in September 2000.<br />

We hold our monthly meetings on the 1st Tuesday at the Country<br />

Harvest Buffet, 6th and Peoria, Aurora, Colorado. Lunch at 1100<br />

AM and meeting at 1130.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Chapter joined the DoD <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> Commemorative<br />

Community and will develop and host programs that honor<br />

<strong>Korean</strong> <strong>Veterans</strong> and their families.<br />

We are seeking membership and participation from all <strong>Korean</strong><br />

<strong>War</strong> <strong>Veterans</strong> in the Denver Metro and the Northern Front Range<br />

Areas.<br />

A special event was held to honor Rhode Island <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong><br />

<strong>Veterans</strong> on November 19, 2000. A concert was preformed by<br />

“Pershings Own” United States Army Concert Band. A tribute to<br />

39,000 Rhode Islanders who served during the <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong>. A<br />

special tribute was made to 145 who were KIA and 55 MIA’s.<br />

well deserved recognition for the veterans of Rhode Island.)<br />
