The Membership Chairman of Chapter 59<br />
Northeast New York, Mr. John Drescher,<br />
finally received his long overdue medals. The<br />
Ceremony was held following an annual breakfast sponsored by<br />
the Rensselaer County, NY Veterans Service Agency.<br />
It was also Mr. Drescher’s 80th birthday. What a wonderful<br />
way for him to celebrate.<br />

Edward R. Fellabaum, Jr.<br />
Edward R. Fellabaum, Jr., the Secretary of CID 70, Ohio<br />
Valley, was inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in<br />
Columbus, Ohio in a 5 November 2010 ceremony. (There are<br />
quite a few <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> veterans in this listing since 1992.)<br />
Fred McGee, who served in Korea with the U.S. Army, where<br />
Bill Hartnett, Edward R. Fellabaum’s family, Governor Strickland, Fred<br />
McGee (L-R) at Fellabaum’s induction ceremony<br />
he earned a Silver Star and a Purple Heart, sponsored Fellabaum.<br />
McGee is also a member of Chapter 70.<br />
Fellabaum earned the privilege of ‘riding’ in the Veterans Day<br />
Parade in Columbus. He marched in that same parade with the<br />
Lead Color Guard of Gahanna Ohio VFW Post 4719 in 1970.<br />
The ceremony ended with the appearance of General Colin<br />
Powell, who greeted and saluted each participant. It was quite a<br />
day for a ‘coal miner’s kid’ from Powhatan Pt., Ohio. (The ceremony<br />

Hershell E. Lee<br />
Hershell E. Lee placed a holiday wreath in memory of those<br />
who served and are serving in the United States Air Force at<br />
an 11 December 2010 ceremony at Danville [IL] National<br />
Cemetery.<br />
He noted that, “Since this program started several years ago, I<br />
have presented a wreath on behalf of the United States Air Force.<br />
I have always felt it an honor to honor all those that are buried at<br />
the VA National Cemetery in Danville. It always takes place each<br />
year at the same time across America.”<br />

The Graybeards
