When to be alert<br />

You never know when unwanted guests would enter your <strong>home</strong>. You<br />

need to be extra careful for <strong>termites</strong>. However, some termite colonies<br />

remain hidden from plain sight. In such cases, <strong>the</strong> only solution is to hire<br />

you detect an infestation on your own. Look out for <strong>the</strong> mud tunnels<br />

which are usually located inside <strong>the</strong> house. They are searched by<br />

<strong>termites</strong> for food <strong>and</strong> water. Ano<strong>the</strong>r sign is to look out for swarms or<br />

flying ants. They convey a warning that <strong>the</strong> <strong>termites</strong> are nearby. Also do<br />

not forget to look out for wings. Wings are usually left out by swarms<br />

near <strong>the</strong> windows. The clearest sign <strong>of</strong> termite infestation is wood<br />

damage. When you tap a termite infested wood, you would hear a<br />

hollow sound or something that sounds like a dull thud. All <strong>the</strong>se signs<br />

would warn you <strong>of</strong> an imminent termite invasion.
