Gloria, Nick, Sam, and Charles, are sitting in four chairs as if <strong>the</strong>y are in a car.<br />
They silently act as if <strong>the</strong>y are looking out <strong>the</strong> windows, pointing things out <strong>to</strong><br />
each o<strong>the</strong>r, writing notes on <strong>to</strong> tablets, and occasionally taking pictures. One<br />
serves as a driver, represented by slowly turning <strong>the</strong> steering wheel. As <strong>the</strong>y are<br />
introduced, <strong>the</strong>y pause from <strong>the</strong>ir observing and say a quick hello <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
audience. Sam’s Dog is in <strong>the</strong> back of <strong>the</strong> car.<br />
Nick: Good evening. My name is News Writer Nick and this is my team of<br />
action reporters. We are on a mission <strong>to</strong> investigate what is happening in<br />
<strong>the</strong> desert. Allow me <strong>to</strong> introduce my star team of newspaper<br />
reporters:<br />
Specialist on world events is Global Gloria.<br />
Sports edi<strong>to</strong>r is Champion Charles.<br />
Local happenings are covered by Snoopy Sam.<br />
Gloria: I am so happy we got this assignment <strong>to</strong> write about <strong>the</strong> Mojave<br />
Desert. It has more recent volcanoes than any o<strong>the</strong>r desert in <strong>the</strong><br />
world and it has <strong>the</strong> lowest elevation in North America.<br />
