You have considered the sacrifice of the heroes of the faithful<br />

to obtain an iuheritance. Tbat is good. Now consider<br />

Jesus who endured for you.<br />

a, Ilow can we turn away from Him in despair?<br />

b, How caii we turn again unto sin?<br />

Let us study Christ, His attitude in every trial, for He had<br />

all the trials,<br />

“Gainsaying” is also translated “contradiction.” <strong>The</strong> word<br />

in Greek is antilogiu, “opposition.”<br />

Observe His opposition.<br />

a. John 1 :11: Came to His own, but they did not receive Him.<br />

b. Chief priest, scribes, John 12 :42-46.<br />

c, Roman law put Him to death.<br />

To consider Him is to endure, <strong>The</strong> interpretation, “endured<br />

such contradiction,’’ is sometimes allowed to show that Christ<br />

had contradictions, such as “joy” and “despising shame.”<br />

a, “Of sinners” indicates that men contradicted and opposed<br />

Him,<br />

a, Rom. 8:17: “If so be that we suffer with Him, that we may<br />

be also glorified with Him.”<br />

b. Gal, 6:9: “Be not weary in well doing.”<br />

c. Rev. 2:3: “Thou-hast not grown weary.”<br />

d. I1 <strong>The</strong>ss. 3:13: “Be not weary.”<br />

In times of distress just keep looking to the Lord, remembering<br />

His afflictions.<br />
