Abbreviations<br />

Abbreviations are used in knitting patterns to shorten commonly used<br />

terms so that the instructions are easier to read and a manageable length.<br />

The following is a list of all the abbreviations you need to make the<br />

projects featured in your How to Knit box set and many of these are further<br />

explained later in this book. The green tinted box opposite lists the most<br />

common differences in US and UK knitting terms.<br />
