Airports of Entry FWCL FWKA FWKI FWUU FWSM FWLK FWCM Chileka International Airport Karonga International Airport (VFR) Lilongwe/Kamuzu International Airport Mzuzu International Airport (VFR - Customs on request) Salima Airport (VFR - Customs on request) Likoma Airport (VFR - Customs on request) Club Makaokola (VFR) Note: In accordance with article 19 of the International Sanitary Regulations adopted by the World Health Organization, the following are designated as sanitary airports: Entry/Exit Requirements Entry and exit requirements are for aircraft departing the United States non-stop to country of destination. These requirements do not include any technical stops. Please refer to Technical Stop section in Additional Information for the country at which the technical stop will be made. Entry and Exit documentation forms vary from country to country. In general, however, ICAO member countries will accept the following standard ICAO Annex 9 Entry/Exit documents: ● ● ● ● ● General Declaration Passenger Manifest Cargo Manifest Embarkation/Disembarkation Card Certificate of Residual Disinsection Examples of these documents can be found at IFIM Home>General Information>International Flying Overview> ICAO Annex 9 Entry/Exit Documents. The acceptance of these ICAO documents must be confirmed by the appropriate AIS. Entry Requirements (Departing the U.S.) ● ● ● File an eAPIS manifest outbound (recommend inbound at this time, too) File and activate international flight plan Land at a designated airport of entry (AOE) – customs and immigration The following entry documents are required: 09-January-2014 / MW Page 6 of 11
Passengers – Passport ● ● ● ● Visa - not required for U.S. citizens for stays of less than 90 days Visitor’s Permit - issued at airport, valid for 30 days , can be renewed twice for an additional 30 days each time (fee required) Yellow fever vaccination certificate if arriving from any infected area Cholera vaccination certificate for all passengers and crew over 1 year of age Crew – Same as passengers Note: Other requirements may be applicable in lieu of those stated. Contact appropriate AIS for further clarification prior to flight Aircraft – Non-scheduled flights: ● ● ● ● General Declaration - 2 copies for Customs (Malawi customs Form Nr 2) Passenger Manifest - 1 for Immigration Cargo Manifest - 1 for Immigration Airway Bills - 1 for Immigration Private flights: ● ● General Declaration - 4 copies for Immigration, 1 copy for customs Cargo Manifest - 1 copy for customs ( for items other than personal effects) Exit Requirements (Departing Malawi) Non-scheduled flights: ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Passenger Manifest - 4 for Immigration Cargo Manifest - 1 for Customs Airway Bills - 1 for Customs Report of Departure - Malawi Customs Form 7 - 2 copies for Customs Depart from an AOE File eAPIS manifest if inbound to the U.S. File an international flight plan Call U.S. Customs at filed U.S. airport of entry Private flights: 09-January-2014 / MW Page 7 of 11
