Investigate and create new economic development initiatives that would benefit the<br />
residents of Lakemore.<br />
• Plaza development and the use of green space.<br />
o Continue to work with county planning officials to evaluate the use of green<br />
space.<br />
• Attract new businesses to the area and employment.<br />
o Goodwill Industries and job development.<br />
o Facilitate Lakemore residents’ access to job services and Joint Vocational<br />
Services.<br />
o Develop a business owner showcase for local businesses.<br />
• Potential business development around the lake.<br />
o New partnerships among Akron, Springfield, and Lakemore.<br />
Goal 4<br />
Address the needs of senior residents within Lakemore on an on-going basis.<br />
• Continue to develop the community policing for the elderly.<br />
• Diversion program for youth that incorporates senior needs.<br />
• Develop the availability of special Metro buses.<br />
Goal 5<br />
To develop the community planning and implementation capacity to carry out these goals<br />
and objectives as outlined.<br />
• Organizational structure for continued progress towards community improvements.<br />
