W10 REVIEW RW Machines upbeat about W10 sales performance DEMONSTRATIONS of the new CMB profile wrapping line stopped people in the aisles at W10 with its sheer speed and obvious efficiency. David Thompson-Rowlands reports having set diary dates at the RW Machines showrooms with as many as 75 new users keen to bring product or parts from their own production lines that have hitherto been problematic to protect effectively. Unlike folded card enclosures, CMB’s new profile wrap technology protects the vulnerable corners of rigid cabinets or the delicate mouldings of cabinet frontals specifically at the point of need. And having securely bubble wrapped vulnerable extremities or decorations, the whole is profile wrapped, or overlaid, to form a secure single pack, protected on all sides, that would otherwise rattle around inside more conventional card enclosures. Regardless of whether products are being packed for inventory or for immediate shipment, the same imperatives apply: protect the contents, profile wrap for economy of both space and weight and complete the process at dramatically lower levels of cost … existing users of folded cardbased systems are instantly won over, David reports. These materials are lighter in weight than card, come on large rolls for ease both of storage and application, remove any need for pre-packaging input such as cutting, slotting or folding, enclose much less free space, or ‘air’, than card enclosures, and are very much more protective, even for the packing of multiple or irregular shapes. Bubble wrapping protects the most vulnerable elements and final stretch-film polythene overwrapping contains contents with the strongest and most protective overall enclosure solution. David Thompson-Rowlands reports a very strong sales and enquiry performance from W10 and is in no doubt that response from across the floor was very positive indeed. “I was on my feet from morning ‘til night,” he says; “attendance was excellent on our stands and we made significant sales on many of our proven panel processing systems as well as successful introductions of new ones.” Perhaps predictably, Anderson CNC sold well with both W10 stand exhibits — Selexx and Genesis — selling from the stand to new shop floors in the north of England; there will be more in the press to come on these two successes. The pop-up pin system of RW’s ORMA membrane press show exhibit, which had been extensively covered in the specialist trade media immediately pre-show, also sold from the stand, as did the Ott Shark edgebander, now on its way to a new user.
