<strong>Carmel</strong> Valley: Deputies responded to De Los Helechos<br />
Road in <strong>Carmel</strong> Valley on a report of a 911 hangup. Upon<br />
arrival, a married couple was contacted at the residence. Both<br />
husband and wife advised that an argument had occurred over<br />
the husband’s drinking habits. <strong>The</strong>y agreed to separate for the<br />
remainder of the day.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> Valley: Man made several threats to a woman on<br />
Miramonte Road and battered her. He is currently on own recognizance<br />
release from jail and is not to consume any alcohol.<br />
Suspect admitted to consuming alcohol.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> area: Two transient males reported removing mail<br />
from an unknown mailbox. Area search conducted with negative<br />
results.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> Valley: Juvenile was involved in an argument with<br />
his mother and left their residence on Southbank Road. Juvenile<br />
was contacted a short distance away from the residence and<br />
found in possession of a lighter.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> area: Concerned citizen at Spindrift and Highway 1<br />
reported an unoccupied dinghy drifting in a cove along the<br />
coast. Coast Guard dispatched resources to check the area for<br />
any persons needing assistance. No persons were located, and it<br />
is believed the dinghy fell off the back of a larger vessel and<br />
drifted into the cove.<br />
MONDAY, MAY 16<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong>-by-the-Sea: County probation department called<br />
and asked for officers to assist with a truant juvenile. <strong>The</strong> mother<br />
of the juvenile had called probation to say that her son was<br />
out of control and she needed assistance. Probation arrived on<br />
the scene and advised that the juvenile was on formal probation.<br />
He was contacted, and his room was searched as per conditions<br />
of his probation. A small amount of marijuana and tobacco were<br />
located in a trunk next to his bed. Additionally, a hollowed out<br />
energy drink container, matches and two lighters were also confiscated.<br />
<strong>The</strong> subject was cited for possession of marijuana less<br />
than an ounce. He was transported to school by the probation<br />
department.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong>-by-the-Sea: Report of the fraudulent use of a credit<br />
card on Lincoln Street.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong>-by-the-Sea: Grand theft on Ocean Avenue. Two<br />
purses were taken from a store in <strong>Carmel</strong> Plaza.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong>-by-the-Sea: Employees from a local business<br />
reported loud music coming from a parked vehicle across the<br />
street from the business. Contact made with an adult male subject<br />
walking away from his parked vehicle. <strong>The</strong> male subject<br />
advised he was trying to drive away when he found the battery<br />
to his vehicle had failed. <strong>The</strong> male subject was found to be<br />
responsible for a peace disturbance at the business reported earlier<br />
in the day, and prior to leaving, the male subject was advised<br />
that if he were to return to the business, he could be placed<br />
under arrest for trespassing. <strong>The</strong> male subject stated he understood,<br />
and after a successful attempt was made to start the vehicle,<br />
the male subject drove away.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong>-by-the-Sea: A concerned citizen reported finding<br />
an elderly female subject standing alone in the dark, on the road,<br />
requesting assistance after sustaining moderate injuries in a fall.<br />
CPD, CFD and CRFA responded to their location and rendered<br />
immediate medical attention to the elderly female subject, who<br />
was ultimately transported to CHOMP for further medical treatment.<br />
Pebble Beach: Resident reported her computer had been<br />
hacked into and a fraudulent e-mail sent from her account.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> area: Subject was observed to be staggering across<br />
the road at Crossroads Boulevard and Rio Road carrying a love<br />
seat above his head. He was contacted and found to be too intoxicated<br />
to care for his safety or the safety of others.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> area: Clerk at the Rio Road Chevron reported seeing<br />
men involved in a fight in the parking lot of the business.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> area: Business manager reported a male trespassed<br />
on his property after being told not to return.<br />
Big Sur: Resident reported an intoxicated male was causing<br />
a disturbance in Big Sur. Upon contacting the male, it was discovered<br />
he was a danger to himself and was taken to the hospital<br />
for an evaluation.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> Valley: Male reported suspicious information about<br />
the house he is caretaking.<br />
<strong>Carmel</strong> Valley: Woman reported she was unsure whether<br />
two of her credit cards and Louisiana driver’s license were lost<br />
or stolen.<br />
