In particular, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> series includes <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> detailed technical background reviews and reports prepared by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>C<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g>’s Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP), at <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> request of C<strong>on</strong>tracting Parties, and which would previously have been made available in most instances <strong>on</strong>ly as “In<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>mati<strong>on</strong> Papers” <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> a C<strong>on</strong>ference of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Parties (COP). This is designed to ensure increased and l<strong>on</strong>ger-term accessibility of such documents. O<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r reports not originating from COP requests to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> STRP, but which are c<strong>on</strong>sidered by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> STRP to provide in<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>mati<strong>on</strong> relevant to supporting implementati<strong>on</strong> of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>C<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g>, may be proposed <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> inclusi<strong>on</strong> in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> series. All Ramsar Technical Reports are peer-reviewed by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> members and observers appointed to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> STRP. Ramsar Technical Reports and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> CBD Technical Series are published in English in electr<strong>on</strong>ic (.pdf) <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>mat. When resources permit, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> reports will be published also in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> o<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r official languages of both <str<strong>on</strong>g>C<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g>s and in printed <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>m.
