39 Sculpture in the Streets
An annual walking sculpture tour, presented by the Downtown Albany
Business Improvement District, celebrates international and local
sculptures by engaging and educating the public through art while
highlighting our City’s streetscapes. The 2012 – 2013 Sculpture in the
Street’s exhibit, Stand in the Sole of Albany, celebrates Albany’s Dutch
heritage and the artistic vision of regional artists illustrated on large clogs
placed throughout Downtown. Tour maps can be found at

1st Friday Albany
Promoting the visual and performing arts throughout galleries, museums
and various venues in Albany, 1st Friday is a fun way to explore the
Capital City. Every first Friday of the month from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

10 Farmer’s Market
The Farmer’s Market is held at Maiden Lane Park in downtown Albany
every Thursday throughout the summer from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Expect to see baked goods, plant seedlings, fresh fruits and vegetables -
and even some funky sauces and condiments. Rain or shine.

Alive @ 5
For over 23 years, Alive @ 5 has kept downtown Albany’s spirits high
after work on Thursdays throughout the summer. The stage comes alive
with music from national, regional and local artists; each night plays host
to a different genre of music. Every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
June 7 through August 9, 2012.

38 Albany Center Gallery
Albany Center Gallery (ACG) exhibits and promotes contemporary visual
art produced by emerging and established artists living primarily within
Albany. The gallery’s regular public hours are Tuesday through Saturday,
12 PM -5 PM.

28 Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center
Open seven days a week, the Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center
welcomes visitors and residents alike offering information and brochures
on local and regional events and attractions. Come learn and explore the
400 yr history of Albany at the exhibit gallery. Also onsite a gift shop and
the Henry Hudson Planetarium..

29 Henry Hudson Planetarium
Henry Hudson Planetarium, an official NASA space place, is located in
the Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center (AHAVC) hosting a wide variety
of educational programs that explore astronomy, history, art and science.
