8 STATUS OF CHILDREN<br />
given in accordance with section 55 <strong>of</strong> that <strong>Act</strong> or sealed<br />
in accordance with section 57 <strong>of</strong> the said <strong>Act</strong> shall be<br />
prima fa& evidence that the person named as the father<br />
is the father <strong>of</strong> the child.<br />
(2) Any instrument signed by the mother <strong>of</strong> a child<br />
and by any person acknowledging that he is the father<br />
<strong>of</strong> the child shall, if executed as a deed or by each <strong>of</strong><br />
those persons in the presence <strong>of</strong> an attorney-at-law or a<br />
Justice <strong>of</strong> the Peace or a Clerk <strong>of</strong> the Courts or a registered<br />
medical practitioner or a minister <strong>of</strong> religion or a marriage<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficer or a midwife or the headmaster <strong>of</strong> any public<br />
educational institution as defined in the Education <strong>Act</strong> be<br />
prima facie evidence that the person named as the father<br />
is the father <strong>of</strong> the child.<br />
(3) An affiliation order within the meaning <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Affiliation <strong>Act</strong> shall be prima fucie evidence <strong>of</strong> paternity<br />
in any subsequent proceedings, whether or not between the<br />
same parties.<br />
(4) Subject to subsection (1) <strong>of</strong> section 7, a declaration<br />
made under section 10 shall, for all purposes, be<br />
conclusive pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> the matters contained in it.<br />
(5) An order made in any country outside Jamaica<br />
declaring a person to be the father or putative father <strong>of</strong><br />
a child, being an order to which this subsection applies<br />
pursuant to subsection (61, shall be prima fa& evidence<br />
that the person declared the father or putative father, as<br />
the case may be, is the father <strong>of</strong> the child.<br />
(6) <strong>The</strong> Minister may from time to time, by order,<br />
declare that subsection (5) applies with respect to orders<br />
made by any court or public authority in any specified<br />
country outside Jamaica or by any specified court or public<br />
authority in any such country.<br />
