VEHICLE EXCISE DUTY
All new vehicles are subject to a form of vehicle excise duty (Road Fund Licence – RFL) based on the type of fuel the vehicle uses and its carbon dioxide (CO 2
) emission level, measured in grammes per
kilometre (g/km). To help you identify the duty you will pay, the DVLA has created thirteen bands. From April 2010 the RFL paid upon registration of a brand-new car will be different to the rate paid in
future years. The new first-year rate (or "showroom tax") is designed to further encourage customers to buy vehicles with lower CO 2
emissions. SEAT’s growing Ecomotive and Ecomotive Technology lineups
mean no less than thirty model versions now qualify for £0 RFL in the first year. The table below shows the 12 month RFL rate for petrol and diesel cars:

Engine Power Output
The maximum power output figures are quoted in PS (or Pferdestärke, which is the metric equivalent of horsepower). To convert from metric to imperial horsepower, divide the PS figure by 1.0139.
