State <strong>Noxious</strong>-<strong>Weed</strong> <strong>Seed</strong> Requirements<br />
Recognized in the Administration of the Federal <strong>Seed</strong> Act<br />
Federal <strong>Seed</strong> Act Regulations Section 201.16(b)<br />
<strong>Noxious</strong>-weed seeds include 95 species on which no<br />
tolerance will be applied. These are the so-called prohibited<br />
Federal noxious-weed seeds.<br />
Under the Federal <strong>Seed</strong> Act, only agricultural seeds<br />
(including lawn seeds) are subject to State noxious-weed<br />
seed requirements.<br />
However, the interstate provisions regarding the prohibited<br />
Federal noxious-weed seeds apply to both agricultural <strong>and</strong><br />
vegetable seeds, even though vegetable seeds are not<br />
required to be labeled as for noxious-weed seeds.<br />
