“I love a sunburnt country”

“I was born and have lived all my life in a small country
town in central NSW. My dad was the local electrician
who was kept busy when the 240 volt mains electricity
came to our area. As a youngster I travelled many
miles with him, enjoying the wide brown landscape
which spread before me. I have always loved this part
of the country. The green of the coastal strip is nice for
a change, but I really love to come back to this
‘Sunburnt Country’.”

“Freedom from Poverty”
The artist was born in Africa where she became a
qualified registered nurse. She moved to India on
marrying her Indian-born husband, and the couple had
one daughter. They struggled to survive and raise her
in India. Later, the artist migrated to Australia where
she began a career with the Macarthur Health Service
in NSW.
