Jonas' career started in 1995 when he was 7 years old and by the age of 10 Jonas had<br />
won his first Lithuanian Kart championship. A further two Lithuanian Kart championships<br />
followed in 1999 and 2000, later he became Baltic Kart Champion. A lot of podiums in<br />
this series - 3rd overall in 2002 after season in Poland. He took 17th place in Vortex Rok<br />
world final in 2004, after one year took 10th place in Rok world final and always was one<br />
of the favorites in lithuanian and polish championships .<br />
At the age of 17, following a successful karting career, Jonas graduated to car racing. He<br />
had tried a few races in rally and has reached few podiums in Lithuanian championship.<br />
But more successfully started in VW Castrol Cup races in Poland, Czech and Germany.<br />
During a second season of circuit races Jonas was one of dominating drivers in VW<br />
Castrol Cup serie and took second place overall. Vicechampion of Poland title in 2006.<br />
In 2007, Jonas started racing in the highly competitive Porsche <strong>Carrera</strong> Cup<br />
Scandinavia. He took one podium and at least he informed about his possibilities. Jonas<br />
Gelzinis also was participating in Scandinavian Long Distance races in 2007, where<br />
took many podiums and 3rd place in general qualification.<br />
