Court, on the 26th ult. ; convicted at Perth, <strong>in</strong> Western<br />

Australia, on the 2nd April, 1879, of larceny, and<br />

sentenced to 7 years p.s. Intends to reside <strong>in</strong> Fremantle<br />

District.<br />

Reg. <strong>No</strong>. 8880, William Hamilton, at Perth Police<br />

Court, on the 27th ult.; convicted at Manchester, <strong>in</strong><br />

Lancashire, England, on the 10th March, 1865, of<br />

wilful murder, and sentenced to life p.s. Intends to<br />

reside <strong>in</strong> Perth.<br />

Inquests.<br />

Fremantle.—On the 26th ult., at the Prison<br />

Hospital, before J. Gr. Slade, R.M. and Coroner, on<br />

the body of George CaUaghan, t.L, Reg. <strong>No</strong>. 9679.<br />

Verdict—" Death from natural causes."<br />

Perth.—On the 29th ult., at the Middle Swan<br />

Orphanage, before G-. W. Leake, P.M. and Coroner,<br />

on the body of Lucy Sarah Duffield (s<strong>in</strong>gle woman).<br />

Verdict—" Came to her death by be<strong>in</strong>g accidentally<br />

drowned <strong>in</strong> the Swan River."<br />

Geraldton.—On the 21st ult., at the Hospital,<br />

before W. H. G-ale, J.P. and Act<strong>in</strong>g Coroner, on the<br />

body of Anthony Maley, exp., late 4258, who was<br />

found dead <strong>in</strong> a well at Wogerk<strong>in</strong>e. Verdict—<br />

" Accidentally drowned while <strong>in</strong> the act of water<strong>in</strong>g<br />

his horses."<br />

Property Lost.<br />

Perth.—On the 2nd <strong>in</strong>st., <strong>in</strong> Hard<strong>in</strong>g Street,—<br />

small black retriever pup, about two months old,<br />

four white toes, white under neck, white tip of tail.<br />

Perth.—On the 18th ult., <strong>in</strong> Hay Street,—leather<br />

purse conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g 2s. <strong>in</strong> silver.<br />

Perth.—On the 1st <strong>in</strong>st., between Perth and Crawley—young<br />

black sow pig.<br />

Fremantle.—In December last, while <strong>in</strong> transit<br />

from the s.s. " Ferret" to the Railway Station,—a<br />

t<strong>in</strong> box, marked " E. B. Courthope " <strong>in</strong> green pa<strong>in</strong>t,<br />

conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g books and photo, album.<br />

Bunbury.—On 2nd <strong>in</strong>st., between Geraldton and<br />

Bunbury,—cheque on Union Bank, Geraldton, <strong>No</strong>.<br />
