Chris Hodges, singer<br />
Chris was born in Gainesville, Texas and lives in Philadelphia where<br />
he sings at St. Mark’s Church, with <strong>the</strong> Choral Arts (Society) of<br />
Philadelphia, and <strong>the</strong> chorus of OCP. He also runs <strong>the</strong> admissions<br />
offi ce at <strong>the</strong> Curti s Insti tute of Music where he hones his origami<br />
and crypti c crossword skills. Chris is <strong>the</strong> direct descendant of Ben<br />
Hodges, <strong>the</strong> fi rst person to be legally hanged by <strong>the</strong> State of Texas.<br />
Steven Hyder, singer<br />
Steven was born in Springfi eld, MO and just moved back to<br />
Philadelphia from Chicago, where he sang with <strong>the</strong> professional<br />
choirs of St. Alphonsus and St. Peter’s Churches, as well as <strong>The</strong><br />
Chicago Bach Project. He will be singing with <strong>the</strong> chorus of OCP<br />
in <strong>the</strong> coming season. Steven is also a licensed massage <strong>the</strong>rapist;<br />
he studied at Westminster Choir College. He has visited <strong>the</strong> Grand<br />
Canyon four ti mes.<br />
Kamran Ince, composer (June 18)<br />
Kamran was born in Montana to American and Turkish parents and<br />
currently splits his ti me between Memphis and Istanbul; he serves<br />
as professor of compositi on at University of Memphis and as Co-<br />
Director of MIAM at Istanbul Technical University. His numerous<br />
prizes include <strong>the</strong> Prix de Rome, <strong>the</strong> Guggenheim Fellowship, and<br />
<strong>the</strong> Lili Boulanger Prize. His Waves of Talya has <strong>the</strong> disti ncti on of<br />
being named “one of <strong>the</strong> best chamber works of <strong>the</strong> 20th century<br />
by a living composer” by Chamber Music Magazine.<br />
Leading orchestras throughout <strong>the</strong> world perform Kamran’s works.<br />
Concerts devoted to his music have been heard recently at <strong>the</strong><br />
Holland Festi val, CBC Encounter Series in Toronto, <strong>the</strong> Istanbul<br />
Internati onal Music Festi val, <strong>the</strong> Estoril Festi val in Lisbon, and<br />
<strong>the</strong> Cultural Infl uences in Globalizati on Festi val in Ho Chi Minh<br />
City. Kamran’s new work for <strong>The</strong> <strong>Crossing</strong> is one of a very few<br />
choral works in his oeuvre, which includes <strong>the</strong> acclaimed Gloria<br />
(Everywhere) (2007, performed by <strong>The</strong> <strong>Crossing</strong> in 2010). Four new<br />
