• Understand <strong>the</strong> presentation spectrum <strong>of</strong> necrotizing<br />

pancreatitis; understand <strong>the</strong> appropriate management<br />

<strong>of</strong> patients with necrotizing pancreatitis based upon<br />

patient presentation and course; appreciate situations<br />

where appropriate management may be unclear based<br />

upon lack <strong>of</strong> data or quality data in <strong>the</strong> medical literature;<br />

understand different (i.e., novel less invasive) approaches<br />

to surgical intervention in patients with necrotizing<br />

pancreatitis; understand appropriate patient selection<br />

<strong>for</strong> particular interventions in patients with necrotizing<br />

pancreatitis based upon patient presentation and course;<br />

and appreciate situations where appropriate intervention<br />
