Arkansas<br />
On Feb. 20, <strong>2001</strong>, Gov. Mike Huckabee of<br />
Arkansas signed legislation which requires<br />
young men age 18-25 years to be registered<br />
with the <strong>Selective</strong> <strong>Service</strong> <strong>System</strong> in order<br />
to receive a license or permit to operate a<br />
motor vehicle. This law goes into effect on<br />
January 1, 2002.<br />

Georgia<br />
On April 18, <strong>2001</strong>, Gov. Roy E. Barnes<br />
of Georgia signed legislation which<br />
requires young men age 18-25 to be<br />
registered with the <strong>Selective</strong> <strong>Service</strong><br />
<strong>System</strong> or to consent to registration when<br />
they apply for or renew a driver’s license<br />
or state identification card. This law goes<br />
into effect on July 1, <strong>2001</strong>.<br />
