Why Violence?
Why Not Peace?
Although the World Council of Churches
Decade to Overcome Violence is drawing to
an end it is never too late to consider the
above questions.
During October and November there will be a series of four
evenings devoted to considering some of the issues raised.
We will be looking at four aspects of violence:
Is Violence Inevitable?
How Do We Use Power?
How Do We Act Justly?
What Kind of Identity?
We will be using a variety of resources including exercises to
help us reflect on the questions from our own experience,
materials to stimulate conversation and passages for Bible
study and reflection.
Although each evening will begin with reflection we intend that
the outcome of each meeting will be ideas for action. Further
details and a sign up sheet will be available from late
September. We look forward to your participation.
