Division, is actively focused on retaining and attracting good quality firms to the port area,<br />

Biox Canada Limited was incorporated in 2000 and is involved in the production <strong>of</strong> biodiesel<br />
from feedstock, vegetable oils, agricultural seed oils, recycled cooking oils/greases or waste<br />
animal fats at a cost competitive with petroleum diesel. Biox Canada Limited has recently<br />
announced plans to build the first commercial scale biodiesel production facility in Canada,<br />
at Pier 14 in the <strong>Port</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hamilton</strong>.<br />

Bitumar Inc. is a privately owned company specializing in the production <strong>of</strong> liquid bitumen used<br />
in asphalt blends for road paving as well as for the ro<strong>of</strong>ing industry. Throughout its history,<br />
Bitumar has focused on its research and development efforts in order to position itself as an<br />
industry leader. Bitumar owns and operates four plants in Canada and the U.S. including its<br />
facility at Pier 26 in the <strong>Port</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hamilton</strong>.<br />
