<strong>DoDEA</strong> <strong>Regulation</strong> 1800.01<br />
a. Proactively and constructively manage conflict early and in ways that enhance its creative<br />
potential and minimize its costs in resources and relationships, in order to allow <strong>DoDEA</strong> to<br />
advance its mission.<br />
b. Provide <strong>DoDEA</strong> employees with knowledge and skills that will enhance their ability to<br />
handle their own conflict constructively and to assist others in doing so.<br />
c. Develop and use a conflict management system to prevent, identify, and manage conflicts<br />
at early stages, addressing them before they become disputes ifpossible, in order to foster<br />
enhanced productivity, efficiency, and engagement.<br />
d. Use <strong>Alternative</strong> <strong>Dispute</strong> <strong>Resolution</strong> (ADR) when disputes arise, ifpossible, as it can lead<br />
to more creative and efficient results, often at lower costs.<br />
e. Seek to resolve disputes at the earliest possible time and lowest possible organizational<br />
level, treating each dispute as a potential candidate for ADR.<br />
f. Utilize ADR and conflict management processes that supplement, rather than limit, other<br />
dispute resolution techniques available by law, regulation, or contract.<br />

6. EFFECTIVE DATE. This <strong>Regulation</strong> is effective immediately.<br />
