SteriaAFIS uses a unique algorithm and binary-processing
approach to significantly reduce search time. Processing takes
seconds rather than minutes, which means you see match
results from each additional minutia as you input them.
This gives a much more rewarding and effective workflow and
faster results, even from low-quality latents.
Highly accurate
SteriaAFIS is in full compliance with ANSI/NIST, ISO and FBI
standards. It consists of core functionality for single-finger and
latent search, with additional readily integrated modules for
ten-prints, mugshots, irides and palms, including full prints
and writer’s palms. The fast matcher allows for a full 20-finger
search in less than two seconds using both rolled and flatimpression
fingerprints, which increases probability of a match
for poor-quality material.
Furthermore, SteriaAFIS stores and processes more information
per minutia. Other systems use all or a combination of minutia
type, orientation, angle and print quality during processing.
SteriaAFIS does all this, but also recognises ridge-curvature
direction. This benefit comes in to its own when processing lowquality
latents where accuracy and speed of match is greatly
enhanced using this additional information.
