EYFS The Dolphins New Home The Year One Dolphins class are really enjoying the adventure of a new school. Their new classroom and the new building are looking lovely. Every day something exciting is happening around the site and new things pop up all the time. The children were particularly pleased to see their new climbing frame being put into place. The children were really excited to see the Sport Hall last Friday for their first Sport lesson. We spent time shooting hoops into the basketball nets, with some very talented boys and girls. We are looking forward to an exciting new playground to explore. Many children are happy to see their big brothers and sisters’ upstairs in Lower <strong>School</strong>. In the classroom they have lots more space to learn and move around. Before Christmas, the children completed an Art topic about Matisse. They recreated a number of his collages including ‘La Gerbe’, ‘The Snail’ and ‘Icarus’, with beautiful results. The work is now on display in the classroom for all to see and admire. Miss H. Matsell Lower <strong>School</strong> Sleepover Fun!!! Last Friday was our third annual Year 5 Planetarium trip and sleepover in school. The children had been looking forward to their trip for months and it didn’t disappoint. After an amazing show at the planetarium in Bochum the children made their way by coach back to school. Next was a pizza dinner and after getting ready for bed, the highlight of the evenings fun was a torch light treasure hunt around the school! Finally the children settled down to a movie night and midnight snack before finally falling asleep. Despite the late night, many of the children were up bright and early ready to get dressed, have breakfast and enjoy a final few games! The children of Year 5 would like to say a huge thank you to their teachers for organising the super trip, particularly Miss Zimmermann for leading this excellent nights fun!!! Mr J. Hullock
