<strong>Stony</strong> <strong>Brook</strong>’s faculty are intellectual leaders in their<br />

Fellows, four Fellows of the Royal Society, a Pulitzer<br />
Prize winner, a Fields prize winner, National Medal of<br />

ratio is 17 to 1; all full-time faculty members hold the<br />

14,849 undergraduates and 7,675 graduate students.<br />

Intriguing Off-Campus Study Opportunities<br />
<strong>Stony</strong> <strong>Brook</strong> students have the opportunity to enrich<br />
their education by pursuing their academic interests in<br />
an overseas location while still earning credits toward<br />
their bachelor’s degree. <strong>Stony</strong> <strong>Brook</strong> sponsors programs<br />
in England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea,<br />
Madagascar, Spain and Tanzania; students may also participate<br />
in programs sponsored by the State <strong>University</strong><br />
of New York throughout the world.<br />
Or, students may study for up to one year at one of<br />
more than 150 state colleges and universities in the<br />
United States and its territories through participation in<br />
the National Student Exchange Program. Opportunities<br />
also exist for students to earn academic credit and gain<br />
valuable experience while participating in internships<br />

<strong>Stony</strong> <strong>Brook</strong>’s new residential campus, <strong>Stony</strong> <strong>Brook</strong><br />
Southampton, located on Long Island’s East End, is<br />
focused on addressing the complex scientific, legal,<br />
political, socio-economic, and ethical issues that define<br />
and surround environmental issues. The interdisciplinary<br />
curricula prepares students for careers in areas such as<br />
corporate sustainability practices, ecotourism, environmental<br />
conservation, journalism, law, management,<br />
population studies, and public service, including public<br />
