Alumni Band Reunion
The homecoming game will be
Friday, September 26th and we want
you to participate! Alumni Band
Members may play on the field, play in
the stands, or just sit in the stands
with the band and relive the “good old
days.”
For those who choose to play with the high school band on
the field, there will be practice Thursday, September 25th
from 7-9 p.m. in the band room. We would like you to attend
this practice if you are planning to march in the show. If you
are playing on the field, or in the stands, please come to the
band room at 6:00 p.m. on game day.
We have green alumni T-shirts for $10. You can pre-order if
you want your year put on the back, or you can get a plain
one the day of the game. Please email me with your shirt
order and size by Sept 10th to allow time for having your year
put on. If you want to pre-order a shirt, please make a check
out to STVM Band Boosters and mail it to 1019 Amelia Ave.,
Akron, Ohio 44302
We have a limited supply of percussion, so we need to know
ASAP if you need an instrument. We can’t promise you one,
but we will try!

Classmates Reunite
Classmates LeBron James VM03
and Nick McNeill VM03 reunited
in Orlando, Florida on February
11, 2008 when the Orlando Magic
team hosted the Cleveland
Cavaliers at the NBA showdown.
Nick and LeBron get to visit
several times a year during the NBA season when their teams
compete against one another. After graduating in 2003 from
STVM, Nick graduated from Mount Union College in 2006
with a dual degree in Sports Management and Business
Marketing. Nick has been employed by the Orlando Magic of
the NBA since September 2006. He was recently promoted to
the position of Season Ticket Account Executive. He is
currently working on his M.B.A. in Sports Management. Nick

King for Kids
Bikeathon
NBA All-Star and St. Vincent-St. Mary alumnus LeBron
James VM03, hosted the State Farm "King for Kids
Bikeathon" in Akron, Ohio, on June 21, 2008.
More than 2,000 riders came out to help recognize over 400
Akron-area children who have achieved academic success,
worked on their physical fitness and made important
contributions to the community. The event raised over
$200,000, which was divided among the Akron Area YMCA,
the Akron Urban League and the LeBron James Family
Foundation.
Participants at the Bikeathon included Cleveland Cavaliers
Head Coach, Mike Brown; NBA Legend, Spencer Haywood;
and NBA All-Star, Dwayne Wade.
In addition to State Farm as the title sponsor, FSN Ohio and
Time Warner sponsored the Main Ride, Arby's sponsored the
Volunteer Jubilee, and Summa Health System and SummaCare
sponsored the Kids Bikes. Additional local sponsors included:
The City of Akron, Stopol, Cub Cadet, Goodyear, Quicken
Loans, The Cleveland Cavaliers, and ESPN 850 WKNR among
others.
LeBron looks forward to riding by STVM again next year as
the LeBron James Family Foundation focuses on making the
2009 Bikeathon even bigger and better.
