Minimum delineation area: 2.5 acres<br />
This class is for cultivated annual crops that exhibit a narrow row spacing. It does not<br />
include field crops, which do not exhibit rows on photography, or trees and shrubs, which<br />
tend to have wider spacing. Also not included are farms specializing in ornamentals and<br />
flowers. Typical row crops include corn, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, beans, tobacco,<br />
and a host of other plants used mainly for animal and human consumption.<br />
RECOGNITION FEATURES:<br />
The active fields have straight rows of crops and furrows or plow lines.<br />
In wetter areas drainage ditches and levies or subsurface drains are present.<br />
Rows are visible even after harvesting of crops.<br />
Farm buildings and equipment are seen in surrounding areas.<br />
Irrigation systems are usually present.<br />
