Gold Medalist and <strong>World</strong> Record Holder Lindsay Benko<br />

and Olympic Silver Medalist Erik Vendt, are among our<br />

guest speakers. The camp’s daily routine includes:<br />

dryland training, 3 swim session (one conditioning<br />

session, and two swim sessions devoted to stroke<br />

technique work, drills, starts and turns mechanics.) All<br />

campers’ strokes videotaped underwater and video<br />

California, site of the 1984 Los Angeles Games.<br />

Swimmers stay in on-campus dormitories, 24-hour<br />

supervision, planned extracurricular activities along<br />

with coaches who care about details that can make a<br />

difference for all ability levels, ages 9-18. Elite training<br />

(Wellesley), Rob Orr (Princeton), Dan Colella<br />

(Tennessee), Jamie Bloom (Tennessee) and Shaun<br />

Crow (Australia). We emphasize supervision, technique<br />

and fun. A 9:1 swimmer-to-coach ratio. The finest<br />

coaching minds in the country insure the best coaching<br />

technique available. Our 5-day program includes daily<br />

videotaping, mental training, strict supervision, lectures<br />

by coaches and Olympic guests, and a residential staff<br />

that stresses learning while having fun. One or multiweek<br />

Aquatics Director, Charlie Schober, has been running<br />

camps at UCI for 24 years at the UCI campus. The goal<br />

of the camp is to work on the often neglected areas of<br />

starts, turns, and stroke technique in a fun and<br />

informative atmosphere in small teaching groups of<br />

about 10. Each camper is videotaped from underwater<br />

with verbal critique on the tape. Camp features include<br />

over four hours of in-water instruction per day; planned<br />

recreational activities; 24-hour adult supervision;<br />

convenient dorms, cafeteria, and recreation facilities;<br />

group and early registration discounts. Costs: Clinics<br />

before 3/15 any; 1-$80, 2-$130, 3-$180, 4-$230. After<br />

3/15 any: 1-$95, 2-$145, 3-$195, 4-$245. $25<br />

discount per person for groups of 5 or more. Summer<br />

Four sessions limited to 165 campers per session. A staff<br />

of 50 and three instructional sessions per day, ensure the<br />

individual attention necessary for significant<br />

improvements. Coaches Jon Urbanchek, Jim<br />

Richardson, Eric Namesnik, Stefanie Kerska, Peter Linn<br />

Sam Jalet and Brad Shively are on deck directly<br />

involved in the coaching and training of all campers. All<br />

campers filmed with a mobile underwater camera. Each<br />

camper receives a custom 30-minute video with training<br />

and technique information from the coaches and Olympic<br />

medallists. Intensive training option for older swimmers<br />

who qualify. Technique development tract available for<br />

swimmers in need of skill acquisition. <strong>World</strong>-class staff<br />

provides leadership and companionship that encourages<br />

$560/week includes instruction, swim cap, T-shirt, color<br />
