Unit 1: Weird Water - Skill Builders
Time: 14 hours
Description
This unit uses some of the unique properties of water as a unifying theme and provides an
opportunity for the teacher to assess the current competence of students in science inquiry, their
knowledge of the safe and appropriate use of equipment, and their ability to work independently, in
small groups and as a whole class during instruction. The second Overall Expectation in each Strand
describes the development of cognitive and manipulative science skills. These are the focus of this
unit.
