Operation
There are some important things to know for operation. Bob Grillson works totally
different compared to charcoal or gas grills. So there are some totally different
„Do‘s and Don‘t“:
➡ Please keep your pellets always dry. Pellets that take some humidity won‘t
ignite or if they ignite they won‘t have 100 % power.
➡ Always keep the nozzle clean. Cleaning the nozzle before every grilling is
mandatory. The pressure of the system at 100 % should be at 1.1 bar
(cold) or 1.5 bar (hot at operation). A blocked nozzle (pressure >1.1 or
>1.5 bar) would lead to less power or on the long run would damage the
system.
➡ In Auto-mode („Auto“) Bob does his work (automatic ignition and
automatic temperature control). You just adjust your preferred
temperature (control range 80 - 450° C) and he does all necessary work for
you. In Manual-mode („Manu“) you just control the power of the pump (see
manometer).
➡ Turning off: You can‘t turn off and stop the burning. The pellets that are
in the burner have to burn out. If you are ready with BBQ, switch to
„Manu“-mode and switch to 100 %. Bob heats up to 450 - 500° C and will
clean itself by pyrolysis using the rest of pellets inside. If the pellets burn
out, you can turn off the grill. The fan on the backside runs for further 10
mins to cool the system. Don‘t plug out for this 10 mins.
➡ If you had to turn off without burning out the pellets. The pellets stop
burning slowly. After some hours they should be cooled. Then you can
remove them by a vacuum cleaner.
Ignition and Pre-heating
1. If you look in the hopper of the burner you see the grates and a small
finger of a glow plug. To get a perfect ignition you should open the lid of
the grill chamber first. Then add a small amount of pellets from right side
(from the grill chamber) so the pellets slide under the glow plug (it‘s on
the left side). Please put in a small amount of pellets that you just can‘t
see the glow plug anymore.
2. Check the maximum pressure of the system first. Put the operation switch
(small one) to „Auto“ and the power switch (big one) to „Max“. The
pressure should be 1.1 bar. If it is higher, turn off the grill and clean the
