colleges presently declared fit to receive funds under Section<br />

12(B) of the <strong>UGC</strong> Act, 1956.<br />

The Commission noted the change in the quantum of<br />

grants to be given as one time additional grant under the<br />

scheme one time additional assi<strong>st</strong>ance to universities and<br />

5500 colleges already covered under Section 12(B) of the<br />

<strong>UGC</strong> Act, 1956. The ceiling of grants to the universities and<br />

colleges under the scheme would be Rs.1.00 crore and<br />

Rs.25.00 lakh respectively and would be given in the order of<br />

the priority as laid down under the guidelines of the scheme.<br />

To report the Amendment about the quantum of <strong>UGC</strong> Grant made<br />

in the guidelines prepared for the Scheme of one-time support to<br />

colleges presently not declared fit to receive funds under Section<br />

12(B) of the <strong>UGC</strong> Act, 1956.<br />

The Commission noted the change in the quantum of<br />

grants to be given to Colleges under the scheme. Colleges<br />

would be eligible to receive a maximum of up to Rs.1.00 crore<br />

from <strong>UGC</strong> while colleges located in the north ea<strong>st</strong>ern region<br />

would be eligible for a maximum of Rs.1.20 crore.<br />
