(MATTERS RELATING TO STANDARDS)<br />

2.01: To consider <strong>th</strong>e matters related to <strong>th</strong>e Academic Staff Colleges.<br />

The Commission examined <strong>th</strong>e recommendations of <strong>th</strong>e Standing<br />

Committee on Academic Staff Colleges as modified by <strong>th</strong>e internal<br />

Committee of <strong>th</strong>e senior officers of UGC and approved <strong>th</strong>e same.<br />

It was suggested <strong>th</strong>at some of <strong>th</strong>e institutions are offering similar<br />

orientation and refresher courses for teachers. The Commission desired<br />

<strong>th</strong>at <strong>th</strong>e issue of relevance and equivalence of <strong>th</strong>ese courses may be<br />

examined by <strong>th</strong>e Standing Committee on Academic Staff Colleges and may<br />

be submitted to <strong>th</strong>e Commission for consideration.<br />

SECTION–3<br />

(REFERENCE FROM GOVERNMENT AND OTHER NATIONAL BODIES)<br />

3.01: To constitute Pay Review Committee and to finalise its Terms of Reference.<br />

The Commission examined and approved <strong>th</strong>e proposal for constitution of<br />

UGC Pay Review Committee and au<strong>th</strong>orized <strong>th</strong>e Chairman to constitute <strong>th</strong>e<br />

same. The Commission also approved <strong>th</strong>e terms of reference for <strong>th</strong>e UGC<br />

Pay Review Committee. However, wi<strong>th</strong> respect to UGC officers it was<br />

decided to get it confirmed <strong>th</strong>at <strong>th</strong>ey are not covered under <strong>th</strong>e Terms of <strong>th</strong>e<br />

Reference of <strong>th</strong>e VI Central Pay Commission.<br />
