EVENTS
The Trust’s Open Day takes place on Sunday September 23 from
11am-3pm, followed by the Annual Members Meeting at 3pm.
The event, which will be officially opened by a special celebrity
guest, is a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to see
first-hand how their hospital operates.
A giant marquee will be pitched on the hospital’s Acute car park,
and will house 70 stalls manned by Trust staff from various
departments such as Maternity, Diabetes and the Allergy Service,
while colleagues from community and other health
organisations will also be on display including the Police,
the fire service and housing authorities.
Many activities have been planned, including behind-the-scenes
tours running every hour, the chance to look inside an
ambulance and fire engine, and free health advice from Trust
experts. There will also be farmers’ markets, and plenty of
entertainment for all the family with performances from
various dance troupes, choirs and bands from local schools and
the community. A face painter and balloon artist will provide more fun at no cost to the public,
while all children can receive a free ice cream and enjoy free fairground rides.
UHSM’s Chief Executive, Julian Hartley says: “Every year our Open Day proves to be a lot of fun and this year will be no
exception. It is a great opportunity for us to show the outstanding work we do, while people can enjoy raffles & tombolas,
and participate in tours. The Annual Members Meeting is also a great opportunity to find out what has been happening
within the Trust over the last year and to have a look at our future plans.”

Hilary Meredith Solicitors Ltd is an award winning local law firm. It was founded in October 2003 by Hilary Meredith, who
previously spent 17 years at a leading Manchester Law firm where she held the position of Managing Partner. Hilary had

of Defence. This office is headed up by Sinead Cartwright who joined the firm this year. Sinead will, however, continue her
involvement in community initiatives in Wythenshawe, as she feels passionate about serving the community where she grew
up.
