Sana Roumani – <strong>Admin</strong>istrative Specialist<br />

Working in <strong>Admin</strong>istration and dealing with<br />

customers in <strong>the</strong> areas of transport, travel,<br />

mobile services, equipment, registry, pouch, etc., is<br />

a challenging job that requires a very solid <strong>team</strong><br />

and efficient staff who understand customer<br />

service and how to apply this service within<br />

UNICEF’s rules and regulations.<br />

<strong>In</strong> <strong>Admin</strong>istration, we have open<br />

communication and mutual trust. As <strong>the</strong> <strong>team</strong><br />

leader, my <strong>team</strong> trusts that I can find <strong>the</strong><br />

solutions to <strong>the</strong>ir issues, and I trust <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

willingness to drive for results regardless of <strong>the</strong><br />

challenges. I don’t deal with <strong>the</strong> staff as a leader<br />

but ra<strong>the</strong>r as a <strong>team</strong> player and when you get<br />

<strong>the</strong> target results <strong>the</strong>n you need to recognize <strong>the</strong><br />

staff because it is <strong>the</strong>ir achievement.<br />

As you realize, procuring of services and items is <strong>the</strong> basic<br />

and core function of an organization, especially UNICEF.<br />

If you don’t get services on time, programmes cannot<br />

move well. As we receive invoices we try to move fast and<br />

<strong>work</strong> toge<strong>the</strong>r to accomplish <strong>the</strong> <strong>work</strong> on time. However,<br />

colleagues in o<strong>the</strong>r sections should understand that we<br />

have rules and procedures to follow in order to <strong>work</strong> more<br />

effectively.<br />

For you to succeed in your job you must love it. A lot<br />

of people don’t find <strong>Admin</strong>istration interesting, but I<br />

love it so this is my motivation. I do well because I<br />

love <strong>the</strong> job. My desire is to support people so that <strong>the</strong>y<br />

accomplish <strong>the</strong>ir goals. So whenever people want to<br />

travel, I fully give myself to it and support it.
