According to reports, David E. Kelley met with DC Comics in September of<br />
2010 to gain permission to develop a television series starring <strong>Wonder</strong><br />
<strong>Woman</strong>. With permission granted, Kelley completed work on a pilot script<br />
and began shopping it to television networks in January 2011.<br />
Initially, ABC showed the most interest in the project, but they were unable<br />
to pursue the project further due to ABCʼs ownership by the Walt Disney<br />
Company, who in turn is the owner of Marvel Comics, DC Comicsʼ main<br />
competitor. It was rumored that this conflict of interest ultimately led ABC to<br />
pass on the series.<br />
NBC was the final network to initially pass on the <strong>Wonder</strong> <strong>Woman</strong> pilot, yet<br />
merely a week later, after the corporate shake up caused by the Comcast<br />
takeover of NBC, the new Chairman of primetime programming, Robert<br />
Gleenblatt, decided to pick up the <strong>Wonder</strong> <strong>Woman</strong> pilot for production.<br />
With the announcement of a new <strong>Wonder</strong> <strong>Woman</strong> TV series,<br />
commentators speculated that television may be the better medium for the<br />
character, and might offer a higher chance for success than the cinema. It<br />
