About the Festival The Co-operative Film Festival is one of the longest running film festivals in the country and a huge celebration of young people’s creative filmmaking. Since 1966, The Co-operative has given thousands of young people the exciting opportunity to see their work on the big screen in front of a live audience. The festival is an inspiring and unique experience aimed at encouraging young people to co-operate, develop creativity and express themselves and can stimulate a successful career in the film and media industry from an early age. Come along and watch a diverse range of fun, inspirational and thought-provoking films from animation, drama, documentary and more, all made by people aged 22 and under. If you dream of becoming a filmmaker, want to be part of a production, or have a real passion for films then this is the festival for you - there really is something for everyone! And what’s more, for 2013 The Co-operative is teaming up with Bradford’s award-winning National Media Museum to make this year’s festival bigger and better than ever before! About the venue National Media Museum, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 1NQ The National Media Museum in Bradford opened in 1983 and is one of the most visited UK museums outside of London. With the aim to be the best museum in the world for inspiring people to learn about, engage with and create media, it draws from more than 3.5 million objects in its National Photography, Television, Cinematography and New Media Collections to create special exhibitions, interactive galleries and activities for all ages. It is home to three cinema screens including Europe’s first IMAX cinema! Entry to the museum is free.
