Our Project ABLE classroom is an early childhood special
education classroom for children 3 to 5 years old with
developmental delays and disabilities. With an AM session and
a PM Session, children are given a highly structured classroom
routine that integrates the strengths and needs of each child
into large and small group activities in order to accomplish
goals identified in each child’s Individual Education Program.
The Explorer Program was awarded the prestigious NAEYC
(National Association for the Education of Young Children)
accreditation. This program is a reverse inclusion “blended”
model where half of the children have been identified with
developmental delays and half are ‘typically developing”.
Explorer introduces the youngest members of the Johnson
community to school.
The Parent and Child Education (PACE) program is for 4 year
olds getting ready to enter kindergarten. PACE gives support
to Johnson parents, who are the first and most important
teachers of children. In the program, the home and school
become a important educational team.
Our Cross-Categorical Primary (CCP) class is designed to
meet the needs of children with learning disabilities, health
impairments, physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities.
All students have Individual Educational Programs and small
group instruction is offered along with education in the
general education classroom to the greatest extent possible.
