While Cinderella and her prince play it straight, her stepmother, the Archduke, and the stepsisters are wacky comical. Actually, what they’re paying is Blackmail! Arriving on the scene is that famous Hoboken detective, Hercules Porridge. A corpse is discovered in the sitting room and a beautiful secretary is done in by deadly orchid juice. The guest list includes a mystery writer, Anguish Crispie, an eccentric young man who dresses like a jungle explorer and a strange actress who always dresses in black. Colonel Chutney, a crazy neighbour, thinks the year is 1880 and he’s in India. Thrills and chills collide with side-splitting laughter as the case is surprisingly solved by Detective Porridge. The sleepy judge has trouble staying awake as the attorneys try to present their arguments. The jurors include Grandma, Mother Gooses, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel. The Big Bad Wolf rudely interrupts the proceedings and is ejected from the courtroom. When Goldi gets to tell her version of the events, the sleepy judge dismisses the case. Silly chaos to produce lots of laughs. The costuming is great fun for the performers. Princess A Crazy Mixed-up Fairy Tale Spoof By Judy Wicklund The Wicked Stepmother’s Association tried to kill all the frogs, but one escaped to become a Prince Charming. To their dismay, he rescues the Queen’s daughters in time for each one’s tanning booth appointment. But the stepmothers cast a sleeping spell on the prince. Everyone seeks to find the princess that kissed the prince out of frogdom. Only she can break the spell. Voila! A beautiful woman with her pet dog arrives. An expectant hush comes to the bystanders but the “princess” that breaks the spell is not the woman but the silky-haired dog! This crazy mixed-up tale uses every fairy tale cliché to keep the audience laughing. A clever offbeat comedy. Every line a laugh! After Princess High Hat and Princess Clever Hands fail the first test, Witch Double Ugly in disguise appears to be a winner. But at the last moment Princess Wet-To-The-Bone enters and wins the prince. The audience is given props to bring on stage to interact with the performers. Delightful fun for everyone. Cinderella A Fairy-tale Spoof By Kirk Buis Some Cinderella! She wins the prince with a slam dunk! Not even Disney could match this offbeat and charming version of the classic love story. This Cinderella doesn’t lose a silver slipper at the ball, but a size 9½ Air Nike basketball shoe. It was her athletic shoes that won the prince’s heart. He is a basketball freak. They trace the Air Nike to Cinderella’s house. The ugly sisters try to claim the honour but they can’t make the lay up shot or answer the “Michael Jordan” question. Cinderella can and does!
