The principal way of forming words in<br />

Estonian is by adding derivative affixes to<br />

the stem. Estonian has about one hundred<br />

derivative affixes, almost all of them<br />

(there are two exceptions: eba-, and<br />

mitte- ‘un-‘, ‘non-‘, ‘in-‘) are suffixes.<br />
