17. 1864 Merritt Dickinson, CG7 elder who pushed for British-Israelism to be introduced into<br />
the Church in the early 1900s, is born about this year<br />
General Conference <strong>of</strong> Commandment-keepers commencing 17 June announced<br />
18. 1865 The Church <strong>of</strong> God published an article on this subject in The Hope <strong>of</strong> Israel<br />
"Being Born Again" (no author given). The entire article discusses the new birth<br />
occurring in the resurrection. This is the earliest sabbatarian source which I have<br />
been able to uncover on this particular doctrine.<br />
One name postulated for the non-SDA Church <strong>of</strong> God folk was ‘Free Seventh-Day<br />
Adventists’<br />
19. 1866 Publication <strong>of</strong> The Hope <strong>of</strong> Israel moved to Marion, Iowa<br />

the Church <strong>of</strong> God name in Iowa in 1866.<br />

God folk over Ellen G White’s visions and the true identity <strong>of</strong> the two-horned beast<br />
20. 1867 An article appeared in The Hope <strong>of</strong> Israel (23 April) advocating an annual<br />
Passover on 14 Abib: “an excellent article by Samuel Cronce, Mt. Carroll, Illinois,<br />
contending that the early church, to the time <strong>of</strong> Constantine, observed the Lord’s<br />
Supper annually at the beginning <strong>of</strong> the 14 th Abib, and that we should now show<br />
His death until He comes, by also observing it at the beginning <strong>of</strong> the 14 th .”<br />
